Munguia challenged Golovkin to a fight

Mexican first middleweight boxer Jaime Munguia (41-0, 33 KOs) challenged Kazakhstan's middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) to a fight. The Mexican offers to hold a fight in May 2023.

"This year we couldn't fight Charlo. Hopefully we can do it next year. I know GGG has no compromises. He is not signed with anyone and I would like to meet him in May. Golovkin, see you in May."

Golovkin lost to Saul Alvarez in their third fight before declaring that he has big plans in the middleweight division. The WBA and IBF appointed the Kazakhstani to fight with the contender from Brazil Esquiva Falcao. Tentatively, this fight will take place in early 2023.
