Munguia: "I Am Capable of Great Things"

Mexican super middleweight Jaime Munguia (43-0, 34 KOs) and undisputed world champion Saul Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) have commented on their upcoming fight.

Jaime Munguia: "I'm very happy and enthusiastic about this wonderful opportunity. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone involved who made this fight a reality.

We're ready to give fans a great evening of boxing on May 4th. I can't wait to show the world that I am capable of grand things."

Canelo: "I'm very proud and excited to be able to have this fight.

Mexican vs. Mexican is always a grand event, and it's been a long time since we had one. It's fantastic that such an opportunity has come to a deserving fighter like Jaime. I'm very happy that two Mexicans will meet in such a big boxing match."

The fight between Jaime Munguia and Saul Alvarez is scheduled for May 4th in Las Vegas, USA.

Saul Alvarez last entered the ring in September of the previous year against Jermell Charlo (35-2-1, 19 KOs) and won by unanimous decision. Jaime Munguia handled John Ryder (32-7, 18 KOs) with a technical knockout in January 2024.
