According to Ring Magazine journalist Mike Coppinger, the B-sample of Mexican super middleweight boxer Jaime Munguia, like the A-sample, has tested positive for exogenous testosterone.
This indicates that the hormone found in the athlete’s sample was not produced naturally by his body, but introduced from an external source — meaning it was administered artificially via injection, pill, gel, or other means.
Based on these findings, the 28-year-old fighter now faces disciplinary action from the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC), and the result of his rematch against Bruno Surace may be overturned.
In their second bout, Munguia won by unanimous decision over the Frenchman.
