19-year-old British prospect Moses Itauma (10-0, 8 KOs) has announced that he will serve as a sparring partner for former champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) as he prepares for the rematch against WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs).
"I have to think about my own fight. Usyk and I have similar styles, so I feel this will be very beneficial for Fury. It’s just a compliment for me. But listen, I’m not going there just to help Tyson. I want to compare my abilities with his level. Of course, I’m looking forward to it.
If you’re not striving to become a world champion, what’s the point of being in this sport? I’m not here to waste time," said Itauma.
The rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. On the same card, Moses Itauma will face Dempsey McKean (22-1, 14 KOs).
