The bout between Australia’s Andrew Moloney and Mexico’s Argie Cortés for IBF mandatory-challenger status at Super-Flyweight (52.2 kg) has been pushed back, The Ring reports.
Originally set for 9 August, the fight will now take place one week later—16 August—at Gimnasio Auditorio Centenario in Gómez Palacio, Mexico. No reason for the change was given.
The winner will become the IBF’s mandatory challenger to current champion Wilibaldo García (23-6-2, 13 KOs).
Andrew Moloney (27-4, 17 KOs) last fought in December, scoring a third-round knockout of Jakkrawut Majoogoen.
Argie Cortés (27-4-2, 11 KOs) has been idle since August 2024, when he stopped Salvador Juárez in the ninth round.
