Former world champion Mikey Garcia has taken a swipe at Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, claiming the Mexican superstar is now more businessman than boxer—especially with his upcoming fight against little-known William Scull.
"I don’t even know if fans know who Scull is… but from what I understand, Canelo doesn’t give a f***. He’s here to fight this guy, pick up another belt, reclaim the IBF, become undisputed again, and get a big payday.
And that’s how his next few fights will go—big checks, low risk. Canelo doesn’t care what we think or say about who he fights. His goals aren’t about boxing achievements anymore—he’s done all that. He was a four-division champion. He was undisputed. He was at the top of the game. Now, he’s here to make as much money as possible. He’s taking fights that are low-risk, high-reward. I can’t blame him… but let’s be honest, he’s more of a businessman now than a fighter," Garcia made the comments during an interview with YSM Sports Media.
Canelo is set to defend his undisputed super middleweight crown on May 3 against William Scull.
