Mike Tyson Explains Why He Bit His Glove During the Fight with Jake Paul

Former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson shared in a post-fight interview why he bit his glove during the bout with 27-year-old YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul. He also reflected on his performance.

– Are you happy with what you achieved tonight?

– Yes, absolutely.

– You’re 58 years old, and many thought you shouldn’t be here. People believed it would be over for you in the first round. Do you feel like you’ve proven them wrong by going at least eight rounds with a younger opponent?

– I don’t feel anything toward anyone, not even myself. I’m not that kind of guy. I’m happy for what I can do.

– Did you have an injury before the fight?

– Yes, but I can’t use that as an excuse.

– During the broadcast, there was some debate about what you were doing with your glove (note: Tyson was seen biting his glove). Was it an issue with your mouthguard? Were you just biting the glove? What was going on? Can you explain?

– I have a tendency to bite, – said Tyson with a smile.
