Merhy Questions Anderson's Knockout Power

Belgian super heavyweight (over 90.7 kg) Ryad Merhy (32-2, 26 KOs) commented on the upcoming bout against American knockout artist Jared Anderson (16-0, 15 KOs).

"He's a talented young fighter. He doesn't have much experience yet, but he's gifted. So far, most of his knockouts have come after his opponents declined to continue the fight. His knockout power hasn't yet been proven against a real fighter.

I want to show the American audience that a small country like Belgium can achieve great things in boxing. I'm comfortable in this position. I like being underestimated. This fight will give me a chance to show who I really am. They'll know my name after this fight.

My future is in bridgerweight. Super heavyweight isn't really my division, but I'm not turning down the right opportunities. I'm going to consider some interesting possibilities," Merhy said.

The fight between Jared Anderson and Ryad Merhy is set for April 13th in Corpus Christi, USA. The official weigh-in of the fighters took place the day before.
