Mendy to Fight for Titles

According to the European Boxing Union (EBU), 26-year-old British knockout artist Sam Noakes (13-0, 13 KOs) and 38-year-old Frenchman Ivan Mendy (48-6-1, 22 KOs) are set to box for the EBU lightweight title (up to 61.2 kg). The showdown is slated for April 20 at York Hall in London.

The fight has not been officially announced, yet April 20 has been confirmed as the date for Noakes's next bout. In addition to the EBU title, the British BBBofC, WBC International Silver, and WBO International lightweight titles will also be on the line.

In his last fight, Mendy outboxed previously undefeated compatriot Bastien Ballesta by decision. Noakes has already fought in 2024 – knocking out previously unbeaten Lewis Sylvester in the 4th round.
