In an interview with talkSPORT, British boxing legend Duke McKenzie weighed in on the highly anticipated showdown for the undisputed heavyweight world title (over 90.7 kg) between the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles, Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), and the WBC champion, Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).
"Usyk will win. I hate to pour cold water on expectations, but Usyk will win because he is a much more versatile fighter. I don't think Fury has boxed anyone quite like him, and Usyk will be excellently prepared for this fight. Oleksandr Usyk, when in top form, can handle any heavyweight that ever lived... He has a high IQ and intellect, is very smart, very thoughtful, he hits perfectly and timely, he can neutralize the size of bigger guys. Fury can be read; you know what he's going to do. Reading his fighting style is quite easy. I believe Usyk can do that. In my opinion, if you can read Tyson Fury – you can beat him. The only problem for Usyk is that Fury himself doesn't know what he's going to do from the first minute he's in the ring," said McKenzie.
The fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury is set for May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
