Mbilli vs. Pacheco: WBC Orders Purse Bid

The WBC has officially announced a purse bid for a clash between super middleweights Christian Mbilli (28-0, 23 KOs), holder of the WBC Continental Americas and WBA International titles, and unbeaten American contender Diego Pacheco (23-0, 18 KOs).

The purse bid is scheduled for April 8, after both parties failed to reach an agreement within the allotted negotiation period.

The winner of this fight will be crowned the WBC interim super middleweight champion and will become the mandatory challenger for the full WBC title currently held by Saul “Canelo” Álvarez.

Late last year, the WBC had initially ordered Mbilli to face Jaime Munguía for the interim belt. However, the bout fell apart after Munguía suffered a surprise defeat to Bruno Surace.
