Former world champion in five weight classes, Floyd Mayweather, has proposed a match between the WBA, WBC, WBO welterweight champion (up to 66,67 kg) Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) and the "interim" WBC super middleweight champion (up to 76,2 kg) David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs).
"Crawford wants to move up to 168 lbs, wants to fight there with Canelo. Benavidez also wants to fight Canelo.
If they can't get Canelo right now, they can fight each other," Mayweather suggested in a comment for FightHype.
Terence Crawford hasn't boxed since the summer of 2023, when he secured a victory by stoppage over Errol Spence to become the first two-time undisputed champion in history. David Benavidez has an opponent – he will fight Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the "interim" WBC light heavyweight title (up to 79,4 kg).
