The promotional company Matchroom Boxing has announced a bout for its new boxer, 25-year-old WBO bantamweight (up to 53.5 kg) champion, Mexican Christian Medina Jimenez. His next opponent will be 26-year-old Mexican Adrian Curiel.
For Medina, this will be his first world title defense. Curiel lost the IBF belt in 2024. The fight is scheduled for 6 February 2026 in Mexico.
Medina (26-4, 19 KOs) secured two stoppage victories in 2025: over Juan Ramirez Marquez in the 2nd round and Yoshiki Takei in the 4th round. Curiel (26-6-1, 5 KOs) fought once last year, defeating Yohan Rubio by judges' decision.
