Matchroom Boxing promoter Frank Smith is confident that ex-world champion Anthony Joshua will return to the top of the heavyweight division

Matchroom Boxing promoter Frank Smith is confident that ex-world champion Anthony Joshua will return to the top of the heavyweight division.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again. In my opinion, Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua, with or without the belts, is bigger than Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury."

"Joshua has done everything he has to do and can be proud of his career. Fans can always have their say, but there can never be any doubt about what AJ has done for the sport and what he has accomplished to date. He can still be successful and he's never shied away from a challenge."

“He came right after losing to Andy Ruiz and came right back after losing to Usyk. As I said, in the second fight with Usyk, he looked much, much better. He still has a lot left to give to the sport. He's 32 years old and still in great shape,” Smith said.

Promoter Andy Hearn said that he intends to organize the next fight for Joshua by the end of the year.

Earlier, Joshua said that he is ready to fight anyone in the next fight. Anthony does not mind entering the ring in November, while the promoter recommends December.
