"Many Don't Believe in Yoka": Cissokho Discusses Tony's Potential Comeback

French boxer Souleymane Cissokho (17-0, 9 KOs), a 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, spoke about whether he believes gold medalist from the same Olympics, Tony Yoka (11-3, 9 KOs), can return to his previous form following his defeats.

"I know Tony very well. We have been together since the junior national team. We've competed together a lot, and when we both turned professional, we started working with Virgil Hunter. Tony is like a brother to me.

After the Olympics, he had a gold medal, so he became the face of boxing in France. He was the first Olympic champion in super heavyweight, which brought boxing back to television broadcasts.

It's been tough for him, but I think he can come back. Many have stopped believing in him, but I believe. We'll see," said Cissokho.

Tony Yoka has suffered three consecutive defeats. In 2022 and 2023, he exclusively lost to Martin Bakole, Carlos Takam, and Riad Merhy.
