Manny Pacquiao rises to No. 1 in WBC rankings

Former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) has climbed to first place in the updated WBC Welterweight rankings.

On July 19, the 46-year-old returned to the ring after a four-year hiatus to face reigning WBC Welterweight Champion Mario Barrios. The bout ended in a majority draw — two judges scored it even at 114-114, while the third gave Barrios the edge at 115-113.

This result moved Pacquiao up from fifth place, which he held in May, to the top of the rankings, pushing the previously unbeaten Souleymane Cissokho down to second.
