The manager of Ukrainian lightweight boxer Denis Berinchyk (18-0, 9 KOs), Yevhen Ivanchuk, has shared insights into the preparation of his protégé for the upcoming fight against the WBO super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete (38-1-1, 31 KOs).
"In this training camp, we've incorporated a lot of water-based training – long-distance swims, water exercises, kayaking, and paddleboarding. We've added exercises with an axe, which help train various muscle groups. This time, we're preparing for the fight over 4 months, instead of the usual 2. The comprehensive physical preparation is making itself known – the physical condition is excellent, without injuries. I'm confident that before the fight, the form will be excellent, better than any before!
Denis's mood before the world title fight is the same as before his bare-knuckle fight with Lobov. That is, he's determined," said Ivanchuk.
The bout between Denis Berinchyk and Emanuel Navarrete is scheduled for May 18 in San Diego, USA, with the WBO lightweight title on the line.
