On an episode of the Deep Waters show on ProBox TV, former boxer and expert Paul Malignaggi commented on a potential fight between the absolute super middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) Saul Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) and the interim WBC champion David Benavidez (28-0, 24 KOs).
"For me, it's not so important to watch Canelo getting beaten up like a rag. I think he will be crushed. I don’t think Canelo will fight Benavidez. Benavidez will steamroll over him. He could also do it for $150 million," Malignaggi said.
Canelo Alvarez's next fight will be against Jaime Munguia (43-0, 34 KOs) on May 4th in Las Vegas, USA. David Benavidez, according to preliminary information, will fight Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) for the interim WBC light heavyweight title (up to 79.37 kg) on June 15th.
