Mail Sport: Wladimir Klitschko Considered Bout with Daniel Dubois

According to Mail Sport, former unified heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-5, 53 KOs) was in talks to face current IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs).

Sources revealed that the Ukrainian legend was prepared to step into the ring against the British champion on February 22, 2025, in Saudi Arabia. Negotiations reportedly took place, but organizers ultimately decided not to proceed, wary of a scenario reminiscent of the controversial Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight. Klitschko is now 48 years old, while Tyson was 58 when he lost to Paul by decision.

Insiders claim that Klitschko is "obsessed" with the idea of defeating Dubois and becoming the oldest heavyweight world champion in history. The record currently belongs to George Foreman, who retired in 1995 at the age of 46 years and 169 days, holding the IBF title.

Dubois’s promoter Frank Warren confirmed the talks but stated that the Klitschko-Dubois fight will not happen on February 22.
