Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, has announced that Ukrainian Serhii Bohachuk (24-2, 23 KOs) will face a new opponent. The 29-year-old Briton Ishmael Davis (13-1, 6 KOs) will step in as Bohachuk's new adversary.
Bohachuk was initially slated to fight Israil Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KOs); however, according to Alalshikh, Madrimov is "suffering from acute bronchitis." Despite this setback, the Uzbek fighter is expected to be ready for his bout against interim WBC champion Vergil Ortiz (22-0, 21 KOs).
"This evening, doctors confirmed that Israil Madrimov is suffering from acute bronchitis and must withdraw from the December 21 fight against Bohachuk. British boxer Ishmael Davis will replace Madrimov, who will rest and recover ahead of the scheduled February 22 bout against Vergil Ortiz," Alalshikh stated.
The fight between Serhii Bohachuk and Ishmael Davis will take place on the undercard of the Usyk–Fury rematch on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
