On the night of February 23 in Tijuana, Mexico, a 10-round featherweight bout (57.2 kg) took place between local favorite Luis Nery (36-2, 28 KOs) and Japan’s Kenosuke Kameda (15-4-2, 9 KOs).
The fight ended in the seventh round—after a knockdown, the referee deemed Kameda unfit to continue, awarding Nery a technical knockout victory.
For Nery, this marked his first fight since his loss to Naoya Inoue in May 2024. Meanwhile, Kameda was coming off a December victory over Angelo Beltran before suffering this setback.
