Lopez Sets a Record for the Least Accurate Punches

WBO junior welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs) defended his title for the first time – defeating Jemaine Ortiz (17-2-1, 8 KOs). In the 12-round fight, Lopez won by unanimous decision from the judges: 117-111 and twice 115-113.

Teofimo landed 78 accurate punches. This became his personal record for the least punches amount in 12-round fights. Lopez's previous lowest was 97 hits against Sandor Martin. In that fight, Lopez also won by decision.

According to Compubox statistics, Ortiz threw more punches than Lopez – 409 against 364, and also had 2 more hits – 80 against 78. However, Teofimo landed more power punches – 66 against 60.
