Teofimo to Stay Active in 2024

WBO Junior Welterweight (up to 63,5 kg) Champion, American Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs), has disclosed his fight plans for 2024, asserting that his division isn't as tough as it appears to many. He's aiming for a busy year in terms of ring action.

"All the other fighters are booked for fights, and honestly, the 140 lb division isn't as tough as you think.

I've told myself and Top Rank that I'll be fighting 3-4 times this year. Everyone just wants me to be in the toughest fights so that everyone else has an easy path!" – Teofimo tweeted.

Teofimo last fought in February 2024, securing a unanimous decision victory over Jermaine Ortiz. Other champions in his division include Subriel Matias, Devin Haney, and Isaac Cruz. Matias and Haney are indeed scheduled to fight soon – Subriel against Gustavo Lemos, and Devin against Ryan Garcia. Cruz, having recently beaten Rolando Romero, does not yet have a next opponent.
