Former world champion in three weight categories Vasyl Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KO) told why he agreed to fight against Jemaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KO).
"I think that Ortiz is a young and ambitious fighter. He is undefeated, has good technique and other boxing aspects.
In principle, there were no particular options, because I had a long break in my career for obvious reasons. I couldn't fight top fighters immediately after this break. It just didn't make sense. So, I was offered two potential opponents and I chose Ortiz because he is undefeated," Lomachenko told Yahoo! Sport.
On October 29, Vasyl will fight against Jemaine Ortiz.
