The former world champion in three weight divisions, Vasyl Lomachenko, commented on the fight against the absolute lightweight champion, Devin Haney.
"I'm preparing very hard and very seriously. Haney is currently one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world in our weight class, and it will be a great fight. I want to write my father's name in history because he created me. He made me a professional fighter, a talented fighter," Lomachenko said.
Although the fight has not been officially announced, sources suggest that Lomachenko and Haney will face each other in Las Vegas on May 20th, with the parties currently engaged in the final consultations before the presentation of the fight.
Lomachenko's last fight was against American Jamaine Ortiz, which he won. For the Ukrainian, this was his first and only fight in ten months. Haney, on the other hand, defeated George Kambosos again last October to retain the WBC, WBA Super, IBF, and WBO lightweight titles. Haney has repeatedly expressed his readiness to face Lomachenko in the ring.
