Former world champion in three weight divisions, Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs), has promised that following his next fight, Ukraine will welcome a new world champion. "Currently, Ukraine has only one champion, that's Usyk. On May 12th, there will be two," stated Lomachenko.
The upcoming bout between Lomachenko and George Kambosos will contest the vacant IBF lightweight title (up to 61.2 kg) in Australia. Currently, the sole full-fledged world champion from Ukraine is Oleksandr Usyk, with Serhiy Bohachuk holding a "temporary" world title.
