Lomachenko announced preparations for the fight with Haney

Vasyl Lomachenko, the former world champion from Ukraine, has announced that he has begun his preparations for a bout against Devin Haney, the current undisputed lightweight champion.

During the second bantamweight fight between Louis Neri and Azat Hovhannisyan in Pomona (USA), Lomachenko made an appearance and disclosed that he has been in a training camp in the USA for several weeks, getting ready for his fight against Haney.

"I hope the fight with Haney will take place on May 20th, as announced. We are still working on small details," said the Ukrainian boxer.

Unofficial sources suggest that the Lomachenko vs. Haney bout is scheduled for May 20th in Las Vegas. Currently, the parties are in the final stages of negotiations before officially confirming the fight. Lomachenko's most recent victory was against American Jamaine Ortiz, marking his first and only fight in the past 10 months.

Last October, Haney defended his WBC, WBA Super, IBF, and WBO lightweight titles by defeating George Kambosos in a rematch. Haney has expressed his eagerness to face Lomachenko in the ring on multiple occasions.
