On May 12th in Perth, Australia, local IBO lightweight (up to 61,2 kg) champion George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) will defend his title against Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs). The vacant IBF belt will also be on the line.
Upon arriving in Australia, Lomachenko commented and shared his thoughts about the upcoming fight.
– What do you know about Australia?
– I love fishing, and I know it's a great place for that.
– What is your schedule here?
– We had a very long flight, we want to go to the hotel and rest a bit. We'll find out our plans tomorrow.
– What can you tell us about your upcoming fight?
– Of course, I'm thrilled about the upcoming fight. I hope everything will go well, and we'll see what happens. We have just one week of training left. We'll spend the last week of our training camp here, starting tomorrow.
– Any message for your opponent?
– No, I don't want to say. This is a competition, and I think the strongest will win.
