Loma Arrives in Australia: "A Magnificent Place for Fishing"

On May 12th in Perth, Australia, local IBO lightweight (up to 61,2 kg) champion George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) will defend his title against Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs). The vacant IBF belt will also be on the line.

Upon arriving in Australia, Lomachenko commented and shared his thoughts about the upcoming fight.

What do you know about Australia?

I love fishing, and I know it's a great place for that.

What is your schedule here?

We had a very long flight, we want to go to the hotel and rest a bit. We'll find out our plans tomorrow.

What can you tell us about your upcoming fight?

Of course, I'm thrilled about the upcoming fight. I hope everything will go well, and we'll see what happens. We have just one week of training left. We'll spend the last week of our training camp here, starting tomorrow.

Any message for your opponent?

No, I don't want to say. This is a competition, and I think the strongest will win.

Is it nice to see the Ukrainian community come out to greet you?

Certainly. I really appreciate your support. See you at the arena.
