Australian boxer Liam Paro has decided to move up to the Welterweight division, opting out of an IBF eliminator bout in the Super Lightweight class.
In July, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) sanctioned his fight against undefeated Mexican Lindolfo Delgado (23-0, 16 KOs). Delgado will now face fellow Mexican Gabriel Valenzuela (31-4-1, 17 KOs) instead. The winner will earn mandatory challenger status for the title currently held by Richardson Hitchins.
In December, Paro (26-1, 16 KOs) lost his title to Hitchins by split decision. He returned to the ring in June, scoring a stoppage win over Jonathan Navarro.
