Lennox Lewis Grilled Hearn: "Joshua's Future After Ngannou?"

Former heavyweight champ Lennox Lewis served up some hard-hitting questions to promoter Eddie Hearn about Anthony Joshua's road ahead:

"From a die-hard boxing fan's corner, I've got to lay it out. If A.J. downs Ngannou, as expected, does that notch his belt as a versatile victor? Notching wins over Wallin and Ngannou is one thing, but stacking up against the Parker vs. Zhang victor is another league.

And if A.J. does conquer Ngannou and Usyk clinches the absolute title, will the appetite be there for the Usyk vs. Joshua trilogy? If Fury claims the absolute throne, hinting at ditching all but the WBC and The Ring belts, he's setting the stage as the undisputed champ until the next titan reclaims those crowns.

I'm still banking on seeing A.J. duke it out with heavy hitters like Fury and Wilder – those are the marquee matchups. But as I told Mike Tyson, squaring off against the Lou Savare's won't prep you for the big leagues.

Eddie, isn't there a rematch clause in the Usyk-Fury contract? They could go a few rounds before settling the score. As a true fan of the sport, I'm all for the titans clashing. The best of the best, going glove to glove – that's the fight game I champion," Lewis laid down the challenge.
