Former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis commented on Anthony Joshua's (28-3, 25 KOs) comprehensive victory over Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs).
"As I've always said, it's about pedigree. AJ did what he had to do and also showed the difference in pedigree and experience.
And before you start talking about Fury, he took Ngannou lightly and nearly paid the price for it. AJ did not," Lewis wrote on Twitter.
Remember, on March 8th in Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua faced Francis Ngannou. Joshua sent his opponent to the canvas in the first round. In the second, the Briton ended the confrontation by sending his opponent to the canvas for the second time, then finishing him off with a single blow.
This is Joshua's fourth win in the last 11 months and his third consecutive early victory. Lennox Lewis's last fight took place on June 21, 2003, against Vitali Klitschko. The Brit won by technical knockout after the referee decided to stop the fight due to a cut on Klitschko, following a consultation with a doctor. Soon after, Lewis announced his retirement from professional boxing with a record of 41-2-1, 32 KOs.
