Lennox Lewis on the Rematch with Mike Tyson: "Come on, Baby. Let’s Do This!"

Former undisputed world champion Lennox Lewis shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight between Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) and Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs), as well as the possibility of a rematch with Iron Mike.

"I hope Mike steps into the ring and wins. He’s a boxer; he knows how to protect himself, how to land body shots, and how to cut off his opponent in the ring. He’s younger than I am, so it all depends on his mobility—can he move quickly around the ring? He’s facing a younger guy. We’ll see how it goes.

I haven’t seen him lately to gauge his readiness, but I saw him shirtless—he looks muscular. Of course, he can handle it. If he’s in good shape, he should hold up. Let’s hope his health is good. You can’t always see what’s going on inside based on outward appearances, so you never really know for sure. I wouldn’t want to say everything is fine with him, and then something bad happens.

As for my fight against Tyson? Let’s see how he performs in this match, and then I’ll tell you more… Yes, I’ve talked to Mike. We didn’t discuss the fight because he already has a match scheduled… Yes, I would consider the opportunity to fight him again. Come on, baby. Let’s do this!" Lewis said.

The Tyson – Paul showdown will take place on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA. This will be an official bout, and the result will count towards both boxers' records. This event will be the first boxing night to be broadcast on Netflix. The undercard for the event was announced the day before.

Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson faced off on June 8, 2002, for the IBF, IBO, and WBC heavyweight titles (over 90.7 kg). The day before the fight, the boxers engaged in a massive brawl at a press conference, and Lewis celebrated victory in the ring by KO in the 8th round.
