Lennox Lewis Advises Itauma to Avoid Usyk

Former undisputed Heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has urged 20-year-old prospect Moses Itauma to avoid an early clash with three-time undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.

"Too soon. Better to wait. Wait until he retires, then take your chance. He won’t be around forever. If you rush into it, it could end badly for your career. It’s better not to hurry," Lewis told Sky Sports Boxing.

On August 16, Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) stopped Dillian Whyte in the first round, making a major statement in the division.

In July, 38-year-old Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) knocked out Daniel Dubois in their rematch, reclaiming the undisputed Heavyweight championship for the third time.
