On May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a fight for the undisputed world heavyweight championship (over 200 lbs) will take place between the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles, Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), and the WBC champion, Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The last undisputed champion of this weight class since 1999, Lennox Lewis, offered advice to the British boxer.
"The fight with Francis Ngannou was a wake-up call for Tyson Fury. He did not take it seriously. In fact, Fury needed that awakening. I and many others criticized him; now he is focused.
Fury needs to use his attributes. He needs to be elusive and throw the jab. Tyson needs to do what he knows how to do and what he needs to do. He's been there before, fought smaller opponents. He just needs to pull it all together," said Lewis.
On November 13, 1999, in Las Vegas, USA, Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield by unanimous decision in a rematch and became the undisputed heavyweight champion.
