Lawrence Okolie Names Desired Opponents, Including Former World Champion

WBC Silver heavyweight titleholder Lawrence Okolie (21-1, 16 KOs) has outlined his preferred opponents for his next bout.

The British fighter has his sights set on Joe Joyce (16-3, 15 KOs), Jarrell Miller (26-1-2, 22 KOs), and former world champion Andy Ruiz (35-2-1, 22 KOs).

“There’s no heavyweight fight I wouldn’t be ready for. I’m quite close with Joe Joyce—I’m close with a lot of fighters if you can call it that. They’re like my work colleagues, but sometimes you’ve got to step into the ring and sort things out. If a fight like that comes up, I won’t say no.

As I’ve said before, I’m looking for a fight that gets me closer to another world title. Of course, I’m interested in facing Jarrell Miller and Andy Ruiz—two big guys with solid punches. I’d have to be very, very precise, and that’s where my athleticism comes into play. Both of them have incredible endurance. These would be great fights,” Okolie stated.

In the early hours of December 8, Lawrence Okolie made his heavyweight debut (over 90.7 kg) against Hussein Muhamed (18-2, 14 KOs), dominating his opponent in the first round via TKO 1.
