Light heavyweight (up to 79,4 kg) boxer and Ready To Fight ambassador Ukrainian Daniel Lapin (9-0, 3 KOs) discussed his preparation for the fight against Portuguese Octavio Pudivitr (9-1, 4 KOs).
"We're holding this training camp together with Usyk. There's a lot of work, early risings, and good spirits during preparation. Such monotonous and hard work can sometimes be exhausting. But, as always with Oleksandr and our team, it's never dull because we communicate a lot. He has a very strong energy, so no one ever gets discouraged.
The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds. Of course, I always take any opponent seriously. Octavio is an experienced boxer in good physical shape, but I am now in the best condition I have ever been. I'll be defending my IBO Continental title, and also on the line is the WBA Continental title, which I want to win.
I'm very grateful to Oleksandr for this opportunity, as it's such a big step in my career. Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to represent our country at such a major event," said Lapin.
The Lapin vs. Pudivitr fight will take place on May 18th in the undercard of the historic fight for the absolute heavyweight championship between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
The WBA Continental light heavyweight title will be at stake for Daniel and Octavio's fight. The bout will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
