On 19 July at Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom, the undercard of the Usyk–Dubois rematch featured a 10‑round Light‑Heavyweight bout (limit 79.4 kg) for the WBA Continental, WBO Inter‑Continental and IBF Inter‑Continental titles between Ukraine’s Daniel Lapin (12‑0, 4 KOs) and Britain’s Lewis Edmondson (11‑1, 3 KOs).
The contest went the full distance, Lapin prevailing by majority decision. Judges scored it 95‑95 and 96‑94 twice for the Ukrainian, handing Edmondson the first loss of his career.
Last December the 28‑year‑old Lapin outpointed Dylan Collin by unanimous decision. Edmondson, 29, also went the distance in March, defeating Oluwatosin Kejawa on the cards.
