The promoter of WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs), Alexander Krassyuk, spoke about the provocative package sent to his fighter’s opponent, American Keyshawn Davis (12-0, 8 KOs).
– I found out about this package from his trainer last night when I was heading to my room. He said, “Dude, that’s pure disrespect.” I didn’t even understand what he was talking about at first. Then he explained that someone had sent this package.
I don’t want to say much about it, but to me, it’s obvious that someone with bad intentions is trying to stir up the situation. Denys is a champion, a respected fighter, a man who has been in boxing for many years, follows the sport, and is fully dedicated to it.
– Do you know who sent this package?
– No idea, – said Krassyuk.
Keyshawn claims that Denys sent him a box with bananas, a watermelon, and a note. This led to a heated confrontation at the final press conference.
Later, Berinchyk himself responded regarding his involvement with the package.
