Alex Krassyuk, promoter of WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, hints at a potential unification fight against WBC champion Tyson Fury. Krassyuk expresses optimism about the chances of making this bout happen.
"The fight is under consideration and we're discussing potentially hosting it in Saudi Arabia this December. Fury has previously pushed for Usyk to arrange a fight in Great Britain this past August. Fury is unpredictable — he could, for instance, abruptly retire next week, only to return and battle with Klitschko, Ngannou, Mike Tyson, or others," stated Krassyuk.
He further stressed that the ultimate unification bout, one that will determine the absolute champion, involves two boxers who currently hold all the titles. "Tyson won't be able to evade this. He understands boxing and its history, he knows what's required to become a legend. To attain such status, it's insufficient to simply talk the talk. You must also walk the walk, achieving something truly monumental," he added.
