Krassyuk: "Fury Has Conditioned Us to Expect Less Than Stellar Form"

Alexander Krassyuk, head of K2 Promotions and CBDO of Ready To Fight, praises the current form of WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) as superb, though he notes that Fury has conditioned everyone to expect him to not look his best.

"His Excellency Turki Al-Sheikh noted that British fighters were the best in the world. However, he overlooked the fact that the future undisputed heavyweight champion has a Ukrainian passport. Mr. Al-Sheikh is a great, respected man and a huge boxing fan. It's his right to pick a favorite in the biggest fight of the century. We deeply respect him and believe that this boxing match will be held with the highest level of fairness and sporting excellence. Tyson has so accustomed us to a lack of physical form that now, a loss of a few kilograms makes us think he's in great shape. Condition is a key aspect, and I truly hope he will reach his maximum potential. We want Usyk's victory to be untainted by any lack of preparation on Tyson’s part. For this reason, Alexander agreed to give him time to recover from his poor performance against Ngannou and after his cut before the fight on February 17," said Krassyuk. Usyk and Fury will compete for the status of the undisputed heavyweight champion on May 18 in Saudi Arabia.
