Former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko from Ukraine shared his expectations for the upcoming absolute championship showdown between WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). He also offered some advice to the British fighter on how to prepare for the bout.
"Not too much junk food, no alcohol, no drugs, and prepare well for the fight (Klitschko jokingly mentioned what Fury needs to do – ed.).
Everyone is expecting a very dramatic and interesting fight, but no one can predict the outcome. This is the heavyweight division, where every punch can be decisive. So, to say who will win would be a huge mistake. Yes, of course, I am servering for Usyk. I hope that Usyk wins the fight and brings the WBC belt back to Ukraine. Let's see," said Klitschko.
Klitschko last fought in 2012 – defeating Manuel Charr by technical knockout in the 4th round. Vitali is the only "eternal" WBC heavyweight champion in history. The fight between Usyk and Fury will be the first bout for the absolute heavyweight championship since 1999. Back then, three authoritative titles were on the line in a fight between Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield. This time, four authoritative titles will be at stake.
