Klimas Believes That Adames Has Finally Refused the Idea of Facing Alimkhanuly

The manager of WBO and IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly, Egis Klimas, believes that WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames has made the decision to never step into the ring against the Kazakh fighter.

At the press conference dedicated to the upcoming bout between Alimkhanuly and WBA titleholder Erislandy Lara, Klimas spoke about negotiations with other potential opponents — in particular, with Adames:

“We held many negotiations. I believe that Adames has decided that under no circumstances will he fight Janibek. In my personal opinion, he simply did not want to take the risk of losing his title by stepping into a fight with Janibek.

Since we have worked with PBC before, we were able to reach a good agreement and sign a deal to make the fight with Lara happen,” said Klimas.

Janibek thanked Lara for agreeing to the unification matchup:

“I want to thank Erislandy Lara for taking this opportunity when no one else did.

As everyone knows, I have always said that I want to unify all the titles and become the undisputed middleweight champion. I need all four belts. One of them belongs to Lara — that’s why we are fighting,” Alimkhanuly said.

The fight between Janibek Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs) and Erislandy Lara (31-3-3, 19 KOs) will take place on December 6 in San Antonio, USA.

Earlier, Terence Crawford said he will be watching the bout closely.
