Claressa Shields set for her first-ever career rematch!

Claressa Shields (13-0, 2 KOs), one of the brightest stars in contemporary women's boxing, boasts two Olympic gold medals and four championship titles across three weight divisions. This summer, she will participate in her first bout of the year, facing an opponent she has previously encountered in the ring.

On June 3rd in Detroit, Shields will defend her middleweight titles (up to 72.6 kg) in a match against Costa Rican Hanna Gabriels (21-2-1, 12 KOs). Notably, Claressa triumphed over Hanna five years prior. It's worth mentioning that Gabriels is the only fighter who has managed to knock down the American boxer – a feat that marked the first and only knockdown in Claressa's career.

Since then, Hanna has competed in three bouts, emerging victorious in each one.
