Kit Turman and Eimantas Stanionis to meet in December. Date set

The "regular" WBA welterweight champion, Eimantas Stanionis (14-0, 9 KOs), is set to square off against former world champion Keith Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs). The bout is scheduled for December 9th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, according to BoxingScene.

On the same evening, there is a possibility that Danny Garcia may face WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara, while Chris Colbert could have a rematch with Jose Valenzuela.

Stanionis last fought in April 2022, defeating Radjab Butaev by split decision. Thurman last fought in February 2022, defeating Mario Barrios by unanimous decision.

It was previously reported that Showtime, which will no longer air boxing or other sports on television after 2024, will hold three more boxing events - one of them will take place on December 9. It is likely that the main event of the night will be an exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather against Mikey Garcia.
