Devin Haney, the undisputed lightweight champion of the world, has denied reports that he will leave his championship belts vacant due to a change in weight class.
“This is 100 percent false. But something similar could happen after claims that "belts don't matter," Haney tweeted.
It was previously reported that Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia will square off for the belts that will be left open by Haney.
Recall that Haney's team is currently negotiating with the team of Vasily Lomachenko regarding the potential fight. Bob Arum said that this fight could take place by the end of May this year.
