Haney - on Lomachenko's fight with Ortiz: I don't think it was the best performance

The owner of four championship titles in lightweight, American boxer Devin Haney was not impressed by Vasyl Lomachenko's victory over Jemaine Ortiz. According to Haney, the Ukrainian did not show his maximum.

“I don't think it was the best performance, but I know if me and Loma had fought, we would have seen the best version of this night. Congratulations to him on his victory and I hope we can do it," said Haney.

In the fight with Jemaine Ortiz, Vasyl Lomachenko surpassed his opponent in the total number of accurate punches, but lost with power punches. In just 12 rounds, Lomachenko delivered 125 shots out of 571 thrown to the target. The accuracy of the Ukrainian was 21.9%. In turn, Ortiz delivered 122 punches out of 607 thrown to Lomachenko. The accuracy of the American in this fight is 20.1%.

According to the number of accurate blows, Lomachenko lost five rounds to Ortiz, and in four of them the advantage of the American was overwhelming.

According to the results of the fight, all three judges gave victory to Lomachenko - 115:113, 116:112 and 117:111. For the Ukrainian, this victory was the 17th in the professional ring, for the American, the loss was the first defeat in the professional arena. Lomachenko will most likely fight his next fight against the absolute lightweight champion of the world, Devin Haney.
