The president of Matchroom Boxing and the promoter of the ex-world champion in the heavyweight division, Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KO), Eddie Hearn, commented on the disruption of his client's fight with the WBC title holder Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KO).
Hearne is quoted by the talkSPORT website.
“About two or three weeks ago, Bob Arum said there was no chance in the world that this fight would happen. He then came out and declared: "It's settled, it's just Eddie Hearn's fault." So it's easy to blame me. I get blamed even when it's a bad fight. Now I'm used to it, I don't mind. Such huge battles cannot be arranged in two weeks. The reality is that when two fighters have huge commercial deals with different broadcasters, it takes time. Obviously, we have now missed two deadlines that were final. So I don't know. I haven't spoken to Queensbury since last Thursday.'
