Hearn Names Favorite in Haney - Lomachenko Fight

Promoter Eddie Hearn has expressed his support for world lightweight champion Devin Haney in a possible fight with former three-weight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko.

“The fight between Ortiz and Lomachenko is a combination of many things. Maybe he [Lomachenko] didn't have enough motivation, besides, he got old."

"That's why Haney is the clear favorite right now. I always believed that Devin could beat him."

"With the characteristics that Hayne has, I make him the favorite. Although, of course, I am waiting for another Lomachenko in the fight with Haney."

Vasyl Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz in his last fight. The Ukrainian held his first fight in the last 10 months.

According to the results of the fight, all three judges gave victory to Lomachenko - 115:113, 116:112, and 117:111. For the Ukrainian, this victory was the 17th in the professional ring, for the American, the loss was the first in the professional arena.

Devin himself repeatedly declared his readiness to meet Lomachenko in the ring. In his last fight, Haynie defeated George Kambosos again and retained the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO lightweight titles.
