Hrgovic Eager to Fight Usyk Instead of Dubois

Filip Hrgovic, the mandatory contender for the IBF heavyweight title, discussed the possibility of facing WBA, WBO, and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk in the ring.

The Croatian fighter expressed his readiness to replace Daniel Dubois if an agreement for a bout with the Ukrainian is not reached.

"It's too early to conclude anything, as nothing has been officially announced. But if Usyk is up next, I like that plan. I want to get back in the ring as soon as possible. If Usyk is next, then that's great. However, let's see what happens with Dubois' injury. He says he's ready to fight. So we'll see."

"I'd like to believe that Dubois won't fight and I'll be next in line. I wish he would, but I don't know. He last fought a while back, in December. So, I think he's had enough time to recover and undergo any necessary surgery. In boxing, nothing is ever certain. Over the past few years, I've been promised a lot, but nothing has materialized. So, I won't believe it until I see it," Hrgovic shared in an interview with the YouTube channel Boxing News.
