"Floyd Got Mad": Khan on the Failed Megafight

British professional boxer of Pakistani descent, Amir Khan (34-6, 21 KOs), shared with Gambling Zone details about the failed fight against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather.

"One of the biggest moments I regret is related to Floyd Mayweather. I was at the peak of my career, and we had made a deal for the fight. I decided to announce it first, then Floyd got mad and said, 'Why did you do that first?' He thought he was the bigger star and that he should have been the one to announce the fight first. I made a mistake, I posted: 'Guys, my next fight will be against Mayweather.' He got really upset that I rushed it and cancelled the fight. I was young, I was 24 or 25 years old, and I was very excited about fighting a sporting legend. But it turned out how it did," Khan said.

The five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather retired in 2015, returning for a fight against Conor McGregor (0-1) in 2017. The American remained undefeated, bringing his record to 50-0, 27 KOs.

Amir Khan last entered the ring in February 2022 against Kell Brook (43-3, 28 KOs) and lost by technical knockout.
